Sick Pet Care
At Princevalle Pet Hospital, our goal is the same as yours – to keep your pets healthy and happy so you can enjoy your lives together. Even when your pets have wellness and preventative care plans in place, illnesses and injuries can still occur. When your pets are ill, we’ll do all we can to provide them with excellent veterinary medical care.
Symptoms of Illness
We know how frightening it can be when your pet is sick. Unfortunately, animals are conditioned to hide any sign of illness, injury, or weakness. The clues that something may be wrong could be very subtle. Here are some signs of illness that you should be on the lookout for:
- Weight loss
- Refusal to eat
- Excessive licking of the skin
- Chewing of the skin
- Diarrhea / Vomiting
- Behavioral changes, such as being less active, less playful, or irritable.
You may not know what to do when your companion starts exhibiting strange behavior that’s not typical for them. If you observe unusual symptoms in your pet, it’s important to get them care as soon as possible. The sooner your pets are brought in for treatment, the more likely it is that they will have a quicker full recovery.
