Dr. Okumura did his undergraduate study at Colorado State University. He continued his studies and received his DVM at Colorado in 1984. He practiced in the Los Angeles area for 3 years before moving to Northern California. He then worked in Campbell and San Jose before arriving in Gilroy. Living in Gilroy, he does not miss the daily commute up the 101.
While not working, Dr. Okumura enjoys bicycle riding and horseback riding. He has dabbled in fly fishing as well and hopes to land “the big one” some day! His furry friends include three horses, a pair of rescue dogs, and a cat. He enjoys veterinary practice because each day is different and he appreciates the human-animal bond.
We are proud to introduce our newest Veterinarian, Doctor Amanda Igeta. Dr. Igeta grew up in Hawaii and attended Santa Clara University for her undergraduate degree, where she double majored in biology and economics. She graduated with her DVM from Colorado State University in 2016, after which she moved back to the Bay Area to be closer to her friends and family. After working in Milpitas for several years, she joined Princevalle Pet Hospital in 2018.
Like many other little girls, she grew up fascinated with animals, and enjoyed spending time with her pet rabbits & mice as well as rescuing injured birds. Prior to veterinary school, she also spent time volunteering at zoos & wildlife rehabilitation centers. Dr. Igeta has a passion for travel, loves to read, bake, and hang out with her adorable cat Mochi in her spare time.
